Worship Debrief (03/08/08)

Worship Team Debrief

I humbly apologies for posting this late.

Songs played: Welcome to the family, Potters Hands, Pass it on.

Band line up : Guitar, Drums, Bass, Backup + Worship Leader.
  • Song Dynamics. Keep note of the dynamics of the song, make sure it flows. It would be good to have lesser stops in between songs. Try to make the transitions, build ups and slowing downs for each songs more distinct. ( ie drums / guitar change rhythms. Drummer to initiate transition using crashes and change of drumming style.
  • Congregation Dynamics. Keep note of the dynamics of songs together with congregation. Refrain from instructing the congregation to stand up and sit down abruptly. Worship done sitting down and standing up is different! Try to get the congregation seated best before the song starts. ie end of previous song get them seated. Not when the song starts. If the congregation should rise, an appropriate timing would be when the chorus is about to approach.

Thats about the more things observed this round. I believe the other aspects have been covered by previous debriefs, in short maintain your eye contact, get an assigned point man. Worship leaders make clear your signals - refrain from autopilot. ( as much as we are one body in christ ) we ain't gonna be able to read each other's minds.

Blessings,
Damein
