Worship Debrief ( 22th June 2008 )

Dear Team,

I would like to start adding this section into the Blog on a more regular basis.

I would like to make this light, i strongly encourage and i hope that these comments will be constructive and helpful as we grow together.

Worship Team Debrief

Songs Played : Come now is the time to worship, Your grace is enough, Beautiful Saviour, Seek Ye First.

• Band Members try to have eye contact with your brothers and sisters. Look around you in anticipation of what is to come or when working together. Eg ( when is time to slow down, looking at each other can be a good indication )
  
• General Flow / Order of wortship. For worship leaders, in terms of worship dynamics, i strongly encourage and more fluid type of worship, IE ( starting and ending of song ), ( transiting from one song to another song ). It is a good practise to have these in place to better facilitate the flow of worship, meaning if there are too many breaks in between songs might be distractive to some youth. Eg, a sudden end in singing a very emotional song might be better having the music to fade and pray and giving the congregation time to pray.
  
• Song Mechanics, i still strongly encourage the team to listen to the songs before hand and have a rough idea of your individual parts to play. IE ( for your grace is enough ) i believe it will be more fun and challenging to learn the rifts and then implementing them ( can be your own ) this adds color to the songs. ( Electric guitar and Bass keep it up )
  
• Building up and slowing down. Take note of the speed at which you are building up. IE ( come now is the time to worship ) After the chorus build down, keep the instruments to a minimal and slowly bring in the number of instruments. ( Remember that it is harder to remove instruments than adding them back into the song ). Repeat the stanzas if you have too. Dont immediately attempt to build up a transitoin from the bridge to the chorus by just using one B and C. Instead using B B C to build up and vice versa will help ease the amount of emotional and spiritual change for the youths. ( they are young, but changing too fast might give them a heart attack )
  
• Timing(s). Team try to keep your timing! i know very well all of you are able to do it. ( perhaps its just the sunday morning ). Put more effort into this. There is some speed up during ( come now is the time to worship, singing the chorus for the second time )

In Closing

Well done team. I think most of us would have liked to stay in bed today but we didn't. Thank you for making the effort to come down early. For those who didn't i really hope that in gentle love please try to be abit more punctual okay ? =).

Some fun things to do, why not have a dress code. It be fun to have the team wearing the same colours. Good progress for the half of the year. Please continue to put in your effort! Dont think that you all are good enough coz you guys have the potential to be much more than this!
