Exploring Creativity In Worship #2

Hi Worship Team,

Coming up soon would be 30th March 2008, 5th Sunday, No YM. So we'll not be having jamming this Friday. Take this time to relax and refresh yourselves in God's presence. Here's an activity to help you do so.

Same thing, post your answers by clicking the comments button below.

Activity:

Psalm 96:1 - O sing unto the LORD a new song: sing unto the LORD, all the earth

Spend a moment in silence. Then write 4 lines or more of a song composed by you. It may be a song reflecting God's character, how God has been good to you or even your heartfelt thanks to him.

Be "proud" of what you've written, God has blessed you with the lyrics in your thoughts, as you pen them down and show the world, it is a response to God.

You've written a song or part of it during the retreat, you can put it down here too. As we do this activity, it is a response to God, creativity is also a reflection of Him. God reveals and expresses Himself creatively (just look at everything around you). Yet as we do so, we also reflect Him to those around. The whole of creation tells of the glory of God.

E.g

The heavens declare the glory of Him
The skies proclaim the works of His hands
And i will praise Him and worship
For i know that my Jehovah is true

Jesus, my rock and my redeemer.
Jesus, my refuge and my strength.
Jesus, the alpha and omega,
Jesus, whose mercies never end.

Praise You all the days of my life,
I will sing of Your great love .
For You have promised good to me
And I will ever be secure in Your love.

Lift us up on wings like eagles
When we are tired and weary
For we trust in Your unfailing love.
Your goodness and mercy will never end
